“There shall no longer exist there anything that is accursed (detestable, foul, offensive, impure, hateful, or horrible). But the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall worship Him [pay divine honors to Him and do Him holy service]. (Revelation 22:3) AMP

“Yes, every pot in all the houses of Jerusalem and in Judah shall be dedicated and holy to the Lord of hosts, and all who sacrifice may come and take of them and boil their sacrifices in them [and traders in such wares will no longer be seen at the temple]. And in that day there shall be no more a Canaanite [that is, any godless or unclean person, whether Jew or Gentile] in the house of the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 14:21) AMP

Abstract: As this is primarily an Emanuel Swedenborg Bible Commentaries blog, we will examine the immense importance of living in the world and doing the work of repentance. We can then plainly see from Revelation 22:3 that no one who harbors evil thoughts or desires in their hearts shall be found in the Lord’s heavens after death.

We will use the Bible Commentary “Apocalypse Revealed” as our primary text. Translated from the original Latin by John Whitehead, 1928.

Commentary Revelation 22:3: “Faith and thence the Lord’s presence are given through the knowledges of truths from the Word (Holy Bible); especially concerning the Lord himself there; but love and thence conjunction are given through a life according to his commandments, for the Lord says:

The person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I [too] will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him”. [I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him.] (John 14:21)

But how this is done shall also be told

The Lord loves everyone, and wills to be conjoined to him, but he cannot be conjoined as long as the man is in the delight of evil, as in the delight of hating and revenging, in the delight of committing adultery and whoredom, in the delight of robbing or stealing under any form, in the delight of blaspheming and lying, and in the lusts of the love of self and the world; for everyone who is in these is in companionship with the devils who are in hell. The Lord indeed loves them even there; but he cannot be conjoined with them, unless the delights of those evils are removed; and these cannot be removed by the Lord, unless the man examines himself that he may know his evils, acknowledges and confesses them before the Lord, and wills to desist (the mind decides to exert the energy that the Lord requires to do the tasks in His Word) from them, and thus perform repentance. This the man must do as of himself, because he does not feel that he does anything from the Lord; and this is given to man, because conjunction, that it may be conjunction, must be reciprocal, of man with the Lord, and of the Lord with man. As far therefore as evils with their delights are thus removed, so far the Lord’s love enters, which, as was said, is universal towards all; and man is then led away from hell, and is led into heaven. This a man must do in the world; for such as man is in the world as to his spirit, such he remains to eternity, with the difference only, that his state becomes more perfect, if he has lived well; because he is not then clothed with a material body, but the spiritual lives in a spiritual body”.

If we accept this text as TRUTH, it is what WE DO that shall have “…eternal weight in glory”. We are co-laborers with God in our struggle to find the narrow path while we are in the world. I can testify to you that there is no such thing as “once saved, always saved”. And the New Emerging Church will certainly know this.

EPHESIANS 2:19-22 AMP; (The Joy of The Lord is Our Greatest Strength)

19. Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens), but you now share citizenship with the saints (God’s own people, consecrated and set apart for Himself); and you belong to God’s [own] household.

20. You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus Himself the chief Cornerstone.

21. In Him the whole structure is joined (bound, welded) together harmoniously, and it continues to rise (grow, increase) into a holy temple in the Lord [a sanctuary dedicated, consecrated, and sacred to the presence of the Lord].

22. In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you yourselves also are being built up [into this structure] with the rest, to form a fixed abode (dwelling place) of God in (by, through) the Spirit.
